Barry Pankhurst shares insight and Video about Alzheimer’s

“Loneliness and Utter Isolation”

Barry lives in Indonesia with his wife, Sumi and stepdaughter. In 2005 he was  diagnosed with Alzheimer’s dementia and Parkinson’s disease. His entire life was turned suddenly upside down.  Living in a small provincial village he had little contact or support from other people with Alzheimer’s.

Author: Barry Pankhurst is a member of the Alzheimer’s Society of UK.  He’s on  Face Book and a member of two Support Groups on Face Book  “Memory People™” and “Forge Me Not.” Barry offers support for others who have Alzheimer’s or Dementia and their caregivers as well.

If you drop by and see Barry on Facebook or Memory People™ you’ll find some wonderful, insightful poems he’s written from the heart about Feelings and Circumstance.

**********************************

“I am sorry to bring the sad news that Shortly before Christmas 2015, Barry Pankhurst passed away.  Barry Pankhurst inspired so many. Though he had Alzheimer’s, Barry was a advocate larger than life for Dementia Awareness. He was a master baker by trade and  friend to many on Facebook. He touched our lives with poetry, stories and thoughts of dementia and suffering and surviving. He made a difference in this world and helped others to see there can be a good life even after a diagnosis of dementia! “
